IT Support Technician (1st/2nd Line)

Position: IT Support Technician (1st/2nd Line)

Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire

Reporting to: Head of Cyclone

 

Lead Forensics is the UK’s leading business intelligence software provider, giving our clients accurate, real time information on business users visiting their web-sites- whether those users have formally enquired about their product and services or not.

 

The strength of our product has driven exceptional sales and people growth and we are now recruiting an additional IT Support Technician to ensure that our UK / US-based clients and staff are fully supported throughout their working days.

 

Responsibilities

Responding to first line support requests from Lead Forensics employees, over the telephone and electronically

Utilising our help desk ticketing system to track all user interactions and issue resolutions

Identifying and escalating situations requiring urgent attention, redirecting problems to appropriate resource when necessary

Keeping current with system information, changes and updates

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

 

The successful candidate is likely to be a highly motivated and customer focused individual who has at least two years’ experience in providing support.  You will have excellent communication skills, a strong willingness to learn and be able to take direction.  Technical skills required include:

A working knowledge of PC and Mac environments

A working knowledge of Content Management System concepts

Microsoft T-SQL basic knowledge

Select statements

Update statements

Delete statements

Executing stored procedures

Modifying stored procedures

Windows server remote desktop

Browser developer tools (used to identify website issues)

Basic JavaScript knowledge (used to trouble-shoot JavaScript issues in users websites)

IIS 7.5+ website setup and deployment (desirable, not essential)

Experience of screen sharing technologies to resolve user issues (desirable, not essential)
Fixing data issues by writing SQL queries.
Construction of ad hoc reports using SQL.

 

This will be an ideal job for someone who aspires to be a developer but hasn’t yet got the skills to contribute to a development team.
