Behind the scenes at Lead Forensics: annual charity ball is a success

Behind the scenes at Lead Forensics is a feature that gives us the chance to showcase the ongoings at the lead generation software company. From activities and charity ventures to the faces behind the brand, get to know all things LF!

At Lead Forensics, we are passionate about helping others. That’s why we are so dedicated to giving back to great causes that matter to our team. On Friday 25 October 2019, Lead Forensics hosted its annual charity ball to raise money for Building Schools for Africa — a cause we have worked closely with for many years. The fantastic event was held in the Mary Rose Suite at the Marriott Hotel Portsmouth, and hosted by Lead Forensics founders Paul Thomas and Henry Braithwaite. The evening included dinner and drinks, a raffle during dessert, a talk from Building Schools for Africa Trustee Marianne Johnson, and a charity auction. Managing Director Paul Thomas introduced Marianne Johnson, Secretary of Building Schools for Africa, and long-standing trustee of AidCamps International — the charity from which Building Schools for Africa evolved.

Paul said: “Our charity ball was a truly fantastic evening enjoyed by everyone who attended. We raised money for an organization that has been close to our hearts for the best part of a decade, and we had a wonderful time doing so. It was an honor having Marianne Johnson from the charity in attendance — we are extremely grateful she came along and loved to hear first-hand what the money we raise is used for.”

Guests arrived at The Marriott Hotel at 7pm, and were welcomed with champagne at 7.30pm. They enjoyed dinner from 7.45pm before the raffle and auction commenced — with luxurious and exciting prizes to bid on and be won by attendees. Raffle prizes included a day at the races, Sunday lunch for two at the Marriott, and a whole host of packages — from a Deluxe Beauty package to a Romantic Getaway package. And, the auction included a Porsche driving experience, four tickets to see Lewis Capaldi live at Wembley stadium, a week-long caravan stay at Bashley and afternoon tea at The Ritz, to name just a few. It’s safe to say there was something for everyone! The event saw a great turnout, with 170 guests in attendance. And, thanks to everyone’s generous contributions, Lead Forensics managed to raise a total of £24,000 for Building Schools for Africa.

Paul said: “The auction was a success — we saw money being donated for everything from an afternoon tea at the De Vere Cotswold hotel to a long weekend in Dubai. There was truly something for everyone and seeing just how generous people can be for a good cause is really special. We are always proud of the charitable efforts of our team, and events like the charity ball really reinforce just how important giving back is to the organization as a whole.”

He added: “I’m really pleased to have seen such a great turnout, and I hope that everyone had just as much fun as Henry and I did hosting it! I also want to say thanks to those who helped organize the event, from the behind-the-scenes planning to helping get everyone involved and interested. It is a pleasure to see everyone working as one team to put on a really brilliant event.”

He added: “This year, we managed to raise almost £24,000 from the charity ball alone, which is amazing. As an organization, we are committed to improving and doing more… so let’s see if we can beat that number next year!”

With a DJ provided by Mike Sullivan Entertainment, and an appearance from The Lionels — one of the most sought after function bands in Britain — the Lead Forensics team was able to relax and enjoy an evening of dancing and socializing. The team has been involved in charity work from the outset — both inside and outside of work. From long-haul cycling challenges, mountain climbing and skydives to organization-wide fundraisers, events and dress-down days, there is no charity endeavor too big or too small for the Lead Forensics team! Watch this space for updates on our latest events and endeavors to raise money for charities close to our hearts.
